TEAL
SCOPE
This package design was created for a worldwide design battle. Contestants were given the name of the company, slogan, cooking directions for the product, the look and feel for the package design (fresh and elegant), and a suggested color palette.
METHOD
When beginning this project, I sketched patterns of nature related elements. I decided to include a piece of South Dakota to this challenge by adding Teal ducks. The abstracted plants and circular lines are clean and simple but still provide character. The logo is organic with uneven lines but maintains balance with elongated serifs. The color palette is soft by nature but provides touches of gold to appeal to the judges need for elegant beauty.
CHALKSTONE
SCOPE
Chalkstone is an iced tea company that creates sustainable packaging materials. When purchasing a six-pack of Chalkstone tea, the consumer can purchase a six-pack cooler that can be reused. This is a much more sustainable option than continuously buying a cardboard carrier for every trip to the store.
METHOD
This project consisted of competitor research, color theory studies, Adobe software usage, and learning new building techniques such as sewing. The simplistic, colorful design creates a modern look and feel for tea drinkers. The sustainability of the cooler and the branding of the cans creates a playful and fun package design.
